The four of us went out for breakfast at a local cafe and then went out to London to a place called Sticks and Sushi. A beautiful night was had by all.  The cocktails were delicious. The food was delicious. What's not to love?  Perhaps the bill...

We arrived in Cazaugitat (pron. ka-zō-zhee-tah) in the mid-afternoon and were greeted by Sue and Richard, an English couple who settled in France 12 years ago. We also met Spangle, Hector and the chooks. The house was built in the 1750s, and many of the old features are still functional. We were taken around the workings and quirks of a building of that age. I am always fascinated with old-world architecture and this place fulilled that wonder. It was built to last as the walls are made from solid stone blocks half a metre thick.   Our home for 6 weeks. Spangle.  Him gorgeous! Hector, the dominator. My (temporary) office. I just love the old timbers. Stunning! A view of the house from the dog walk path. Vines as far as the eye can see. And the most magnificent sunsets. Being so rural, there is very little traffic and the villages are not far away for supplies, but both of us are happy to have a quiet life for a week or two before venturing out. 93. Skenfrith and Surrounding Areas - Wales

The Welsh countryside is so beautiful.  The rain has been falling, but we've had many opportunities to get out and about. The hamlet of Skenfrith. The bridge at the entrance to Skenfrith. I have been playing with new photo software so bear with my amateurish artistic flair. We've been spoilt with two castle ruins six miles apart. . Taking Pippin for a walk down the road from our stay. Next door's ex-vicarage. The Skenfrith Castle is 100 metres from our accommodation. Amazing how thick these walls are. The nearby church. A building with what's left of a water wheel used in an old granary. The river is only 20 metres away. We were given this map by the owners. One can have custom-made maps done, apparently. Complete with spelling errors.  The White Castle - 6 Miles from the house. One of the few castles that still have a moat. 122. In Transit - France - Spain - Malta

Leaving France was difficult as we would miss Spangle and the countryside. We packed Penny up and drove 300 km south-west to St Sebastian situated on the north-west coast of Spain.  We were given a lovely hand-made Portuguese bowl from Spangle's owners. Lovely people! The roads were in good condition and we made it in good time (3 hours ish). It was sunny and busy due to a festival that weekend. St Sebastian We walked along the bay and after a quick feed, had an early night to start the 5 hour drive to Madrid airport the following day as we were flying out that afternoon to Malta. Pysched and ready for the journey ahead, Google Maps was slow in updating our whereabouts, making us miss turns.  The timeline tells the story. And it was worse than that looks.  VERY stressful! Once out of the city, the highway down to Madrid airport was smooth and uneventful until we got into the outskirts of Madrid.
