39. Oxford - UK
The city of Oxford is about a 45-minute bus ride from where we are staying. The university is at the heart of the city with some amazing buildings.
Here is a pic of the river Thames at the entrance to Oxford.
These are pics from the Oxford University grounds
The museum at the Uni was worth the visit.

How they work these things out has me beat. Going by size, colour and shape, I concluded it's a fossilised organic substance originating from a 'black hole' in the constellation of Taurus. There's a dad joke in there somewhere...

Max bought me the world's best licorice! It was yummy!
The seats in the buses are very close together so a conversation with Max was not exactly exclusive to her ears. I was speaking about the bus ID code being 'X2' sounding more like a spaceship in Starwars than a local bus. We kept the Starwars theme going for a while and in the corner of my eye, I could see the woman in front of me smiling during our 'private' conversation. She turned to thank us as she had never seen Starwars and thought it would be great to watch the series. I mentioned to her that there was the initial trilogy followed by a prequel trilogy. She then asked what the name of the first prequel movie was and as Max and I were thinking about it, a voice from behind us said "The Phantom Menace". Well, we all started laughing then! And what topped it off was the person wanting to watch the series said it will be a great distraction whilst the coronation of King Chuck III was being televised!
Hi guys , Glad you like Oxford , I have a cousin who was a professor there many years ago .hope the weather is not too bad for you ex Queenslanders , loving your journeys 💕💕
ReplyDeleteAh ha ha ‘ fossilised organic substance originating from a 'black hole' in the constellation of Taurus!’; I found it funny how the sign says ‘Please touch carefully’, why, is it because it’s sooo old?
ReplyDeleteLoving the architecture
Oh wow. Those old buildings are something else. The likes of which will never be built again.
ReplyDeleteYou guys a rocking it! Love it!
Each photo looks like a postcard! Re conversation on the bus, had me laughing out out. Keep up the entertainment!
ReplyDeleteI love the eventual group discussion on the bus, love the pictures of the buildings in Oxford, and the best part was mentioning Starwars as a distraction from the Charlie event... oh gosh we actually had it on in the background, like watching paint dry, what a waste of money!
