115. Autumn in Sevenoaks

We arrived back in Sevenoaks and stayed at Daniel and Ellen's while they were in Majorca, where Daniel took flying lessons. Sevenoaks has become very familiar to us now and it feels like a home away from home. Autumn has arrived, and what a wonderful time of the year that is!

On our daily walk into town, we pass one particular property with a beautiful Japanese maple tree that's about to change colour, so I took a few time-lapse pictures and stitched them together.

Our daily walks took us past some impressive properties showing the quintessential autumn colours.

The moss is beautiful.

We thought we'd try our luck at a quiz night at a local pub and we're placed on a table with 6 women whose children went to the same school.
We successfully answered a question about the 'Gabba' cricket ground and took our place among them.

Our team went on to win. The win was based on a toss of a coin as we drew with another table. The prize was 75 pounds (150 AUD) but too little an amount to share across the whole table.
An elimination round ensued, and all 12 people had to choose heads or tails. It got down to 5 -  me and 4 others. They all chose heads, and I chose tails and this we enjoyed two meals on the house at the pub.

These little fellas drew our attention at Knole House

Picking up some raw milk from a local farm, we met a young Jersey calf.

And a Herdwick sheep. White heads, brown bodies.

I've been given some work on a video project based in Brisbane. It's kept me out of trouble and out of Max's hair.  Having the time to work on it is a blessing and the work should continue for a few months.

Just for a change in pace, we venture off for a pet sit in London for a week.
